Senior Estimator/Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a driven, experienced Senior Estimator/Project Manager with a strong background in commercial/industrial earthwork, excavation, grading, and demolition. Experience with water and sewer utilities, as well as soil stabilization, is also desirable.
In this senior-level role, you will lead projects from pre-construction through completion, overseeing estimating, budgeting, scheduling, equipment, materials, and project execution, together with the management team. Working closely with field teams, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Estimating Responsibilities
- Review civil drawings, specifications, and bid documents for projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs including excavation, grading, import/export material volumes, sewer, soil stabilization, and demolition
- Prepare cost estimates, bids, and proposals for assigned projects
- Identify scope gaps, project risks and opportunities, and necessary bid clarifications
- Conduct site visits to gather geotechnical data and validate scope and conditions
Project Management Responsibilities
- Develop project schedules and milestones
- Together with the management team, coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials for active jobs
- Review plans, specs, permits, contracts, and engineering documents
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Work closely with field foremen to ensure efficient operations
- Serve as a point of contact for general contractors, owners, developers, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, and project challenges
- Together with the foreman, verify work is completed according to plans and address deficiencies and corrective actions promptly
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in earthwork, excavation, or sitework estimating and project management; field experience preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, high-pressure environment
- Ability to read and interpret civil/site plans independently
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs for earthwork scopes including grading, excavation, or similar work
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills related to construction quantities and costs
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills as well as superior written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in software programs such as AgTek
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience related to the qualifications

Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred but not mandatory for hire
- Highly dependable with a strong work ethic
- Excellent at communicating with team members, vendors and suppliers for all material and equipment needs
- Ability to meet project schedules, regulations, best practices, and safety requirements on a daily basis
- Must be able to adapt to changing jobsite conditions to keep projects moving efficiently and on budget
- Skilled at operating dozers, excavators, skid steers, rollers, etc.
- Mid-to-high level experience in the construction trade is desired, previous leadership experience is preferred but not required
